Terms of Use

These terms govern use of Nueces County Criminal History. Visiting a page, reading its material, or submitting a query through a search box constitutes acceptance of the conditions below. A visitor who does not agree with them must stop using the website.

NO FCRA USE. This privately owned website has no connection to a local, Texas, or federal government body. Neither the site nor its advertising partners offers a service intended for credit, employment, insurance, tenant, or other decisions regulated by the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA). Its purpose is to help readers locate criminal-record resources in Nueces County, Texas. It is neither a private investigation firm nor a consumer reporting agency.

1. What This Website Is

This is a private reference site operated independently of government. It does not store official records and cannot retrieve a criminal record, perform an official check, or submit a filing for a visitor.

The material routes readers to the Nueces County Sheriff's Office, District Clerk, Texas Department of Public Safety Crime Records Service, Texas Public Sex Offender Registry, and other custodians. Some pages also connect to outside research tools.

2. Rules for Using This Site

You agree that you will not:

  • Use bots, scrapers, or other automated tools against the pages
  • Attempt unauthorized access to any system
  • Use information to stalk, threaten, or harass a person
  • Rely on site content for a hiring, housing, credit, or insurance decision
  • Interfere with site performance or another visitor's access
  • Violate federal, Texas, or local law while using the website

3. No Harassment, Stalking, or Discrimination

No information from this site or a linked tool may be used to stalk, harass, intimidate, threaten, or discriminate against anyone. Such conduct is prohibited and may also be criminal. Texas Code of Criminal Procedure Chapter 62 places special limits on use of Texas Public Sex Offender Registry data. The registry supports lawful public-safety awareness, not vigilantism, employment blacklisting, or housing discrimination.

4. We Are Not a Consumer Reporting Agency

We are not a consumer reporting agency under the FCRA and do not create consumer reports, credit reports, or official background checks. Our advertising partners likewise do not provide a site service designed for applicant screening, rental review, insurance pricing, or credit decisions. Information from this site or a linked tool must not be used to:

  • Determine creditworthiness or insurance premiums
  • Evaluate a renter or housing applicant
  • Make a hiring or firing decision
  • Decide eligibility for a license, permit, or public program
  • Carry out any other FCRA-regulated purpose

A check needed for a regulated purpose must be obtained through an authorized official process or an FCRA-compliant screening company, not through this site.

5. No Legal Advice

The site does not provide legal advice. General explanations of Nueces County records cannot determine how a charge, conviction, warrant, expunction, or nondisclosure rule applies to one person's circumstances. A licensed Texas attorney must provide that advice.

6. No Warranties

All site content is provided "as is." We make no guarantee that:

  • An outside search provider's results will be complete or correct
  • The pages contain no bug, error, or security weakness
  • The service will remain available without interruption
  • Any item of information is complete, accurate, or current

Charges may be filed or dismissed, and records may later be restricted or expunged. Updates can therefore lag. Site content is never an official statement from the Nueces County sheriff, a court, Texas DPS, or any other government body.

7. Third-Party Services and Links

Links lead to government offices, court portals, Texas agencies, legal resources, and outside search services. We do not control a destination's content, availability, privacy practices, prices, or terms and accept no responsibility for them. Review the destination's rules before using it.

8. Intellectual Property

Text, graphics, logos, and code belong to Nueces County Criminal History or its content partners. They may not be copied, modified, distributed, or used to make derivative work without prior written permission.

9. Limits on Our Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for damages arising from use of the website, including reliance on information found here or through a linked service.

10. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from claims, demands, or legal proceedings caused by your site use or violation of these terms, including related costs and legal fees.

11. Governing Law

Texas law governs these terms, including applicable Texas consumer-protection law. The Texas Public Information Act, Government Code Chapter 552, and Government Code Sections 411.083 and 411.135 govern access to and dissemination of relevant government records but do not make this private site a record custodian. A dispute tied to site use must be brought in a court located in Texas.

12. Changes to These Terms

We may revise these terms. A revised version becomes effective when posted on this page.

13. Cutting Off Access

We may restrict or terminate access at any time, for any reason, without prior notice.

14. Severability

If a court finds one provision invalid or unenforceable, the remaining terms continue in effect. The affected provision will be limited only as much as needed to make it enforceable.

15. Questions

Questions about these terms may be submitted through the Contact page.
